"I am more than happy to receive enquiries and approaches regarding our Christian faith, practice/life and ministry. This might be concerned with baptisms and weddings or funeral services. Perhaps you simply wish to speak to a priest in your local area. Do contact me in any case. You will see on this page that many new ventures are happening in our part of St Wilfrid's parish. All are most welcome.
Our Lord Jesus is risen and is coming. God bless you."

Worship/Meetings Currently:
Saturdays 6.00pm St Wilfrid's Church 1st (Vigil) Mass of Sunday
Continuing within the catholic tradition of St Wilfrid's parish, this is a fairly informal & family-friendly service with sermon, hymns and music. See below for more details of this.
Please see the Vigil Mass page.
Story of Our Church Plant Community
For several years a missionary church plant congregation worshipped in the Saltergate Schools and then in the Styan Community Centre, both in the Jennyfield area of St Wilfrid's parish. With changing circumstances and needs, this worshipping community decided, after much consideration, to relocate the Saturday evening Mass up to St Wilfrid's church, continuing to engage in mission on the Jennyfield/Killinghall Moor estates in other ways. This is not necessarily a permanent arrangement and future venues for this community may well develop.
The Saturday Vigil Mass at St Wilfrid's
The services on Saturday at 6.00pm continues in the informal catholic style the plant had developed over the years, thus offering alternative eucharistic worship, particularly for families and younger people. A variety of musical styles is used. Although this is a distinct community within the parish, many tend to join the rest of the St Wilfrid's for major events. Furthermore, those who have occasional commitments on a Sunday morning often worship instead on Saturday evening.
Currently the Team Rector, Fr Gary Waddington is looking after the Vigil Mass community until a Team Vicar is appointed.
